Sponsored placement & advertising policy

This guide is free for homeowners. To sustain it, we offer clearly-labeled commercial options to AC companies. Here is exactly what is for sale — and what is not.

What companies can pay for

• Claimed profile — free. A company can claim and correct its own profile facts (which we still verify).
• Enhanced profile — added photos, longer description, and contact buttons. Facts are still verified.
• Sponsored directory placement — increased visibility within the directory, labeled “Sponsored.”
• Call tracking — a tracked phone number so the company can measure calls from this site.
• Quote requests / leads — opportunities to receive homeowner quote requests.
• Category sponsorship — a labeled sponsor slot on a service page.

What companies cannot pay for

• A higher editorial ranking. Editorial order follows our methodology only.
• Removal of a competitor, or removal of accurate negative information about themselves.
• A fabricated rating, review, badge, or “verified” status.
• The right to write their own editorial review.

How paid placement is labeled

Sponsored listings carry a visible “Sponsored” label near the listing, with wording such as: “Sponsored listing: this company paid for enhanced visibility in the directory. Sponsored status does not affect our editorial rankings.” Paid outbound links use rel="sponsored".

Quote requests

If you submit a quote request, the companies that receive it may be paid partners. We disclose that at the point of submission. We do not claim to have selected the single “best” contractor for your specific situation unless a real, disclosed matching process exists — today, a quote request simply routes your details to participating companies you can then vet yourself.
